Refreshments can be pot luck, or provided by the hosts. You can choose to restrict the use of alcohol and tobacco – or not!

It's customary, but not required, to offer the artist a room for the night. If they accept, you’ll probably get a few songs for breakfast!

A stage isn't required, and PA systems are very compact if used at all.

'How much does this cost?'

You can exercise largesse and pay the performers yourselves, or you may prefer to 'pass the hat’ to offset costs.  Most audiences are not put off by this gentle request at all.

As in a nightclub, a solo or duo should make $200-$500 between CD sales and performance fee.. A strong touring act may command $500+, and national acts can be had for as little as $1000. Either way, the fee is completely negotiable and under your control.
